Behind The Name:  

In Igbo spirituality, Gdess Ala presides over the underworld, holding our ancestors in her womb.  With her name translating to “ground” in the Igbo language, from it is from her realm we come from and return to.  

 Ala governs the seemingly unrelated domains of morality, fertility, and death, only connected through the string of the human spirit.
