FAQ
Answering Questions:
Q) Are your products ethical and/or fair trade And if so, how?
Ethical fashion is an umbrella term used to describe “ethical fashion design, production, retail, and purchasing”. It covers a range of issues such as working conditions, exploitation, fair trade, sustainable production, the environment, etc. So our response is, YES. Our brand is both ethical and fair trade, and here's why:
We procure our fabrics from the artisans who create them. It pays them the price they ask for, and in that way, it empowers their livelihood. It supports their sustenance. AND — it supports the sustainability of their lifestyle, and their craft. It does so by connecting their products with the rest of the world, creating demand for such products and thereby, enabling them to increase production of their artisan crafted products. So, it is ethical in that it supports the livelihood of a rapidly diminishing group of artisans. It is procured from remote parts of the world and connects these parts to the rest of the world. Additionally, by bringing this art form to light, it enables this community of artisans to continue doing what they so love to do.
Q) What happens if I order something and it doesn't fit?!
The beauty of the modern day allows us the ease and conveniency that is online shopping. A luxury, and a double ended sword. We understand that being unable to touch, feel, and try on our clothes makes it hard to know just how perfect it will fit you until it arrives at your doorstep. That's why we offer FULL REFUNDS within 30 days of purchasing, with the only exception being no damage or obvious signs of wear on the clothing. If you would like to exchange an item for another, don't worry we offer that too. Just shoot us an email at hutmentality@gmail.com, or reach us via phone at +1 949-648-0004, and we will be happy to attend to your concerns.
Q) What do I do if a product I love is sold out?
This is where the whole "rare, and exclusive and hard to come by" element comes in. We're not just saying that, these products are literally rare, exclusive and hard to come by. Most of the artisan communities who produce our featured textiles belong to a dying livelihood, a starved community, and a forgotten craft. We hope to sustain these crafts through stimulating demand for our products, and raising awareness for our cause. However, because of just how hard it is to find truly artisan products and traditional crafts in today's day and age, our stock of fabrics is always in shorter supply than we would like; we are lucky just to procure it at all! If a product sells out, we can only hope to find it again and have our dedicated team of tailors re-make a popular item to be further restocked. This is very much based on chance, circumstance, and demand. We hope you leap on the items we do have as soon as we release them, before they are all gone and question mark for future collections!
